There is no 100% guarantee that any puppy will be free of health problems. We take great care in evaluating the health and soundness of our Labradors and the studs we choose for our litters. Even two parents who are free of hereditary diseases can produce a health problem from time to time. Screening reduces the chance of problems. We guarantee our puppies for 26 months against severe/non-functional hip dysplasia, as well as a lifetime guarantee against developing PRA and EIC. All puppies will be up to date on vaccinations, wormed, and a health record provided. We also provide you with a puppy packet that contains a pedigree, pictures of parents, and copies of parents' health clearances.
Pups will be ready to leave between 8 and 10 weeks of age. We reserve the right of first pick of all our puppies. However, all the puppies are special and we do our best to match a suitable puppy with your family based on our conversations and your visits. Whenever possible, we will allow you to choose your puppy out of a select few to suit your lifestyle. And if one catches your eye, we will do our best to make that match if possible.
We do NOT ship our puppies, but are more than happy to consider families outside the area who want to pick up their puppy from our home. Out of the area families must have prior dog experience. We are easily reached via the Denver or Colorado Springs Airports.
You can be assured that your future family companion will be well socialized. The pups are raised in our home learning to live with normal household noises. They will be socialized with our adult dogs, as well as our family and friends. The importance of socialization while at our home, and later at yours, can be read here. Our puppies are also exposed to early neurological stimulation and they have experienced 7 surfaces (carpet, gravel, sand, etc.) by 7 weeks of age.
We recommended that our puppy families do not spay or neuter their new puppy until 18 months or older. Information about long term health risks and benefits can be read here. If you have any questions or concerns, we ask that you discuss this with us prior to setting up the appointment with your vet.
We offer in-home boarding to all of our puppies. We would rather you enjoy your vacation knowing your dog is safe in our home, spending time with "family." This gives us a chance to spend time with our pups as well! Cost is $25/night and all visits must be scheduled 2 weeks in advance.
